Weekend hikes

The Estonian natural environment offers endless opportunities for hiking and sometimes one day is not enough to fully explore the destination. That is why we organise weekend hikes, particularly on the Estonian islands. We take the time to immerse ourselves in the destination and enjoy the true life of a hiker by sleeping in a tent and cooking food over a campfire. If a tent seems too extreme, do not worry, a cozy bed with clean sheets is guaranteed with some of our longer hikes.

Hiking Estonia

The hiking club HikingEstonia grew out of the active lifestyle of the hiking guides and their desire to set a good example for others to spend more time in the fresh air and natural environment. Our goal is to offer healthy exercise in nature in the form of weekly hikes. Hiking is not just a sport, it is a form of active holiday, a lifestyle in itself. HikingEstonia is not another hiking club that only offers hikes to high mountains in other parts of the world. We mainly offer walking hikes in Tallinn and Harju County, but in summer all over Estonia, and four to five times a year we offer mountain hikes and adventure trips abroad. We also organise private hikes. For example, we will help you organise a memorable adventure hike for the employees of your company according to your needs.

Our hikes

Anyone aged 12 and over is welcome on our hikes, while our children’s hikes are for children aged 6 and over. You can join our hikes even if you have never hiked before. For beginners, we recommend hikes that are 7–10 kilometres long. Please dress according to the weather (windproof and layered clothing, hat and gloves), wear shoes with a strong sole pattern. A small sandwich/snack of your own will come in handy during the break. We offer tea and snacks in the middle of the hike. Dogs who are used to long walks are also welcome on our hikes. Well-trained and obedient dogs are allowed to participate in the hike at the owner’s responsibility and, if necessary, the dogs have to be on a leash.

What our hikers think

A small selection of feedback, in the opinion of our hikers themselves. See more on our Facebook page

Hiking is becoming increasingly popular. I've gone on hiking adventures with HikingEstonia guys on more than 10 occasions, both in Estonia and on Ibiza Island and have enjoyed it greatly. It's really a highly recommended activity for every age group. Our hike master Andrus is a positive and friendly guy, knows the routes and trails well, knows what he is doing and obviously enjoys doing it. And you can be sure you won't go hungry on these hikes!

The whole trip was well organized and we felt fully welcomed and taken care of throughout the route. Andrus paid attention to all members of our group. There were enough stops with tea and snacks on our way, the lunch by #tacticalfoodpack was sufficient and tasty, the route varied and we saw extraordinary places, like the dunes. I warmly recommend #hikingestonia trips to anyone who wants to spend a great day outdoors and enjoy good company and nice atmosphere created by Andrus and other hikers.
